About Founder

Kip Lytel, CFA

Founder and Managing Wealth Advisor of Montecito Capital Management.

Kip Lytel, CFA is a recognized leader in the wealth management industry, helping clients in Santa Barbara and Los Angeles achieve long-term financial success through sophisticated, strategic wealth planning. Known for his clear, insightful voice as an author and speaker, Kip has spent more than two decades helping clients make disciplined, intelligent financial decisions that align with their long-term goals.

Having spent years in senior investment roles at multi-billion dollar asset management firms, Kip saw firsthand how professional portfolio construction, risk management frameworks, and long-term return optimization were applied at the institutional level—but rarely delivered to individual investors. Recognizing that most individual investors lacked access to this level of investment discipline and portfolio oversight, he founded Montecito Capital Management to bring those same institutional capabilities directly to private clients. The firm was built around a transparent, conflict-free advisory model designed to align advice with client outcomes and apply institutional-quality portfolio management to individual wealth.

PROPRIETARY RESEARCH & MARKET INTELLIGENCE

Institutional‑Grade Market Intelligence

For more than two decades, Kip Lytel, CFA, has studied the relationship between market cycles, economic trends, investor behavior, and portfolio outcomes. This research led to the development of a proprietary market prediction model designed to identify changing market environments and evaluate the risks and opportunities they may create.

Drawing upon quantitative research, artificial intelligence, macroeconomic indicators, market internals, and cross‑asset relationships, the framework provides an institutional‑grade approach to assessing evolving market conditions. The objective is not to predict markets with certainty, but rather to improve decision‑making through a deeper understanding of the forces driving risk and opportunity across global markets

Montecito Capital Management’s proprietary market prediction model is utilized internally to support investment research, portfolio management, and risk oversight as part of the firm’s disciplined investment process.
